Moonshine Still is proud to carry these beautifully handcrafted oak barrels. The barrels are handcrafted from the best American white oak, to a medium char. All of the barrels are individually made by experienced coopers, one barrel at a time, and they are WAX (PARAFFIN) FREE!

Beware of varnished barrels. The varnish can leach into the flavor of your spirit. We will not sell barrels with varnish or wax.

These oak barrels are manufactured specifically for us.

Made from American White Oak for aging Whiskey, Rum, Scotch, Brandy, Cognac, Tequila, and Bourbon, Wine Vinegar or any spirit that benefits from aging. Our barrels are hand crafted for the home-winemaker, brewer, or distiller and make a wonderful centerpiece for the bar or kitchen.

Small barrels like these are perfect for folks who want to try out the different aging processes and aging of different spirits.

Curing Your Barrel
First rinse the inside of the barrel by filling and emptying 2  times to remove any wood debris. Prior to use, your barrel must be filled with water or submerged for approximately 1 to 2 days. This will allow the oak to expand and retain liquid. (the barrel may leak until cured) After this initial curing period, place the barrel on the holder in a dry area. Liquid will continue to slowly drain through the wood for the following 1 to 2 days. Keep the barrel filled during this time. When the barrel stops draining, empty the contents and rinse again. You are now ready to fill with your spirits.
